This is an oddly paced and rushed episode, and while I still enjoyed the fight scenes, the same can’t be said for the other parts.
For one, Joe’s and Gomamon’s relationship is dull compared to the original series. While their personalities remained on point, the way they accepted their destiny as a Digidestined is too quick. There is no buildup, no conflict toward the resolution. It was as if the story was simply told to fill an episode rather than a proper introduction for Joe and Gomamon.
Overall, I’d give this episode a 7/10.
